DISCOVERING CHURCH MEMBERSHIP CLASS     

The manner in which people join a church determines their effectiveness as a member for years to come.
Here at Southminster we value effective church members. 

An effective member is one who is knowledgeable about their church and
is plugged in or assimilated into the full life of the church. 
That kind of committed membership is characterized by joy and passion.

In order to set the tone and expectation level for new members
a four hour Discovering Church Membership (DCM)
is required for anyone who wants to become a member of Southminster Church. 

If you attend the class and do not feel led to join that's okay. 

The class is taught by the pastor and
is scheduled for a time convenient for those who are interested at the moment. 

The class answers the following questions:   

What is a church?
What are the purposes of a church?
What are the benefits of being a member?
What are the requirements for membership?
What are the responsibilities of membership?
What is the vision and strategy of this church?
How is the church organized?
How can I get involved in ministry?
What do I do now as a member?

The class is offered on a regular basis.
