Super/Souper Bowl of Caring

Southminster’s Super/Souper Bowl of Caring is held on Super Bowl Sunday every January.  Admission is $1 (or more) + 1 canned food item per person. All donations are given to the Crisis Assistance Ministry. Participants bring their favorite football snack to share with other fans and enjoy a time of fun and fellowship while watching the Super Bowl on the big screen.

The Souper Bowl was conducted statewide in South Carolina in 1991 with 310 churches joining the team. Growing rapidly every year, last year’s Souper Bowl generated $3,100,000 for charities around the country. The 11,211 participating congregations represented all 50 states and Canada. Since it became national in 1993, this simple but significant effort of caring and unity has enabled an aggregate of over $10,000,000 to be sent to ministries that care for “the least of these our brothers and sisters.”
