God chose us to be His people and calls us to serve Him through worship and work. Therefore the church must examine its common life. The Worship Ministry is given the responsibility to so examine the life of this church that what we do together will enable us to glorify God while contributing to the welfare of the community of faith.   The Southminster Worship Ministry is a standing ministry under the supervising Board of Elders and meets regularly, usually on the 3rd Monday night of each month. The ministry is composed of representation from the Elders, Staff, Music, Deacons, Congregation-at-Large, Ushering, and Youth of the church. The primary responsibilities of the ministry are as follows:

• Coordinate and schedule all church worship.

• Work with all standing ministries of the church with regards to any church worship implications and/or special worship services or events.

• Ensure that all worship is coordinated and implemented according to the wishes of the Session (Elders) in keeping with the Book of Church Order's Directory For Worship and the needs of the congregation.

• Establish a worship calendar noting yearly, monthly and liturgical events in the life of the church, i.e., dates for Holy Communion, services for healing and wholeness, Advent and Christmas, Lent and Easter, etc.
